Fire For The Nations
Dear Friends & Family,
As many of you know, we have been quite busy lately. Our daughter, Michelle, is getting married Saturday, September 26. The date was set over a year ago. We decided to call it the ‘G-20 wedding’ when Pittsburgh was chosen to host this international summit. Then we were asked to help mobilize prayer for the city and those coming. In the midst of this, Renaid broke her foot on August 11th, 6 ½ weeks before the wedding. The prognosis was 6-8 weeks on crutches and a non-weight bearing boot. Thankfully, she ‘escaped’ this at 5 weeks, 1 day, but during that time she was unable to do much and I (Ray) had to pick up many of her household responsibilities. It has bordered on overwhelming at times, for both of us.
Renaid said that after the wedding she was ready to go full speed ahead with whatever the Lord has for us and things are starting to happen.
A Divine Connection
Two years ago we were in Israel with Lila Terhune and Karen Goodman of Apple of His Eyes Ministries. Through their connections we met a young Arab woman that God has raised up. Rania coordinated and led the Arab believers’ participation in the Global Day of Prayer for the first time in 2007. As well as participating in national events, Rania has founded HOPE (House of Prayer and Exploits) in Nazareth. We have stayed in touch since we were there.
An Open Door
The Lord has now opened the door for us to minister to leaders in the Galilee region. We will be teaching on hearing God and the prophetic, which Rania has described as ‘pioneering’. We are excited and consider it an honor to be able to sow the word of God into this part of Messiah’s Body. We are planning to leave October 20th so that we can be in Nazareth on the 22nd. The conference is scheduled for the 23rd & 24th. We are also planning to spend a few days in Jerusalem. There are several 24/7 houses of prayer, one of which we have connected with before and is praying for the G-20. We also hope to visit a missionary from Covenant Church of Pittsburgh (where we are attending).
Prayer Needs
We earnestly desire your prayers. Like Moses told the Lord, “If You don’t go with us, we don’t want to go (see Exodus 33).
The estimated cost of this trip is about $6,000. This includes airfare for 4 people, in country transportation (we may have to rent a car), and some lodging & food expenses. The 2 going with us (Sheila Morgan-Smith and Ed Musk) are praying and raising their portion of this as well.
Tax deductible gifts may be made payable to Fire For the Nations and given to us or mailed to the address listed. FFN is part of Christ For the Nations Fellowship of Ministers & Churches.
Thank you in advance for your prayers and support.
